After a race, the players will keep the Rings they have collected. Getting hit with any obstacles will cause the player to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. During races, players can collect up to 100 Gold Rings (which serve to increase their movement speed) and dodge obstacles as they progress to reach the goal (represented by the " Phantom Ruby Prototype"). Instead of being an endless runner, it is a basic runner where players each choose a character and race against each other online in real-time on one of many finite tracks selected at random, based upon City, Green Hill, Sky Sanctuary, Mystic Jungle, Planet Wisp, Golden Bay, and Emerald City. The gameplay of Sonic Forces: Speed Battle is very similar to that of Sonic Dash and Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom, with a competition element from Sonic Rivals added to it. A level editor is available, like in the original game.Sonic running in Celestial Skyway, one of the many unlockable tracks in the game. The levels are each set in different areas like Moss Caverns, Skeleton’s Keep, Inferno’s Playground, and many more. You also have the use of a drill, jackhammer, snare traps, and other goodies at your disposal. You do have a limited arsenal that includes bombs and booby traps. Of course as you go the levels become harder and enemies begin to come after you. The game plays as a single screen platformer where your goal is to climb up ladders and clear the levels of treasures in order to progress. There is also the addition of a two-player mode.
Graphics, sound, music, as well as character animations. Lode Runner: The Legend Returns keeps very true to the gameplay of the original, but it enhances just about every aspect of it. It was later ported to Playstation and Sega Saturn in 1996. It was developed by Presage Software and published by Sierra On-Line in 1994 for DOS, Mac, and Windows 3.x.
